This policy describes the declared behavior and architecture principles of Firefly Reader Technical Preview. Each specific APK should be checked against its actual permissions, network calls, and release notes before publication.
1. Local books and offline reading
- Firefly Reader is being built as an offline-first product.
- Local files do not need to be uploaded to Firefly Server just to read them.
- Opening a local book, keeping position, and basic reading actions should work without a permanent network connection.
2. Reading data
Reader’s architecture includes local library and reading state such as position, sessions, bookmarks, highlights, quotes, notes, cache, and other data required by Reader features. The exact set depends on the Technical Preview version.
3. Future synchronization
- Full Diary ↔ Reader integration remains on the roadmap.
- When sync is implemented, data minimization means syncing only what the promised feature needs, such as progress, sessions, annotations, profile state, or library state.
- Local book files should not be uploaded automatically merely because sync is enabled.
4. DRM and external content
Firefly does not circumvent DRM. Protected content can only be integrated through official authorization, an API/SDK, or another lawful mechanism.
5. Website and test downloads
The SVH Group website uses its own aggregate counters for page views and direct downloads. Google Analytics, advertising cookies, and third-party ad trackers are not used for these counters.
6. Feedback
If you voluntarily send a bug report or message, we process only the information you provide for replying and diagnosing the issue.
