How to create a backup

How to protect your reading history in Firefly and avoid losing important data.

🧰 Protect your data

A Firefly backup helps protect your library, quotes, notes and other important parts of your reading history.

How to create a backup

1

Open Settings

Find the backup section in Settings.

2

Choose to create a backup

Firefly will prepare a file containing your data.

3

Save the file somewhere safe

It is better to keep a copy somewhere other than your phone as well, for example in cloud storage or on a computer.

Things to remember

  • one backup is good, but two independent copies are safer;
  • update your backup regularly, especially if you read actively;
  • create a new copy after major changes to your library as well.

How to restore data

  • open the same backup section;
  • choose Restore;
  • select your backup file;
  • carefully review what will be restored.

Before restoring, it is a good idea to create another current backup of your existing state.
