ISBN scanning is one of the easiest ways to add a physical book. Firefly reads the barcode and tries to retrieve the book information automatically.
How to scan a book

Open Add book
Open the add-book screen and choose ISBN scanning.

Allow camera access
If Firefly asks for camera permission, allow it.

Point the camera at the barcode
Hold the phone steady and make sure the full barcode fits inside the frame.

Check the result
After scanning, check the title, author and cover before saving.
If the ISBN cannot be scanned
- try better lighting;
- hold the phone a little farther from the book;
- clean the camera lens if the image is blurry;
- enter the ISBN manually or search by title.
What if the book is not found?
This can happen. In that case, try the following:
- check whether the ISBN was scanned correctly;
- try searching by title;
- add the book manually.
