Key points
- Voting and the prize draw are separate actions.
- Joining the draw is optional, free and does not affect a vote.
- One person may have one active raffle entry per season and can receive a maximum of one of the three prizes.
- Each prize slot has a primary and a reserve winner.
Current rules/consent revision: 2026-08-26-v4. Previous revision: 2026-08-26-v3. Base revision: 2026-07-22-v2.
1) Organizer and nature of the draw
- The organizer is the author and administrator of Firefly (SVH Group UA).
- The draw is a separate voluntary promotional activity for Firefly readers and does not determine the Firefly Book of the Year results.
- No participation fee is charged; purchase, donation or subscription is not required.
2) Who can participate
- The participant uses an official Firefly version, has at least one successfully saved vote in the current season and separately accepts these raffle rules.
- A person under 18 participates through a parent or legal guardian; the contact must belong to an adult.
- The raffle is conducted exclusively within Ukraine, excluding the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Prize delivery outside Ukraine is not part of the standard terms. If a confirmed winner is abroad, the possibility and method of receiving the prize may be agreed separately with the organizer; such delivery is not guaranteed.
3) Submit, edit or withdraw an entry
- After voting, the user voluntarily enables raffle participation, selects a contact channel and separately confirms consent.
- Supported channels: Email, Telegram, phone, WhatsApp or Viber.
- One active entry per person/confirmed Firefly installation is allowed for the season.
- Before the deadline, the contact can be changed and participation can be withdrawn or restored.
- Withdrawing a raffle entry does not delete or change the Firefly Awards vote.
4) Deadlines and frozen participant list
- For the 2026 season, raffle participation opens with voting on 1 December.
- Entries and ordinary edits close on 27 December 2026 at 23:59.
- After the deadline the active-entry list is frozen; new entries are not accepted.
- For transparency, a numbered list of public participant codes may be published without full contacts.
5) Three prize slots
- 1st: a finalist book + Calendar Pro.
- 2nd: MEGOGO BOOKS · UAH 500.
- 3rd: a book prize + “First Light · Firefly 2026”.
- Each prize is fulfilled independently; a delay or issue with one prize does not cancel the other two.
- A cash substitute for a physical prize is not guaranteed unless explicitly agreed for that slot.
6) Winner selection and reserves
- After the list is frozen, three primary winners are selected randomly from valid entries.
- One person may receive only one prize; after selection, that public code is excluded from the remaining prize slots.
- A reserve winner is separately recorded for each of the three prize slots.
- If the primary winner is invalid, refuses, cannot be contacted or does not reply in time, the prize moves to the reserve for that slot. If needed, a new documented selection is performed only for that specific slot.
7) Contact and seven-day response period
- The organizer contacts each primary winner using the channel chosen in the entry.
- Each prize slot has its own 7 calendar day response period starting from the recorded first contact.
- If there is no reply, the contact is invalid, the winner refuses, or the entry is found ineligible under these rules, the reserve mechanism is used for that prize.
- A public code is not announced as a confirmed winner until the person confirms acceptance.
8) Data needed to deliver a physical prize
- Firefly Awards does not request a full name or postal address when a raffle entry is submitted.
- Name, address and other delivery details are requested only after a win is confirmed and only when necessary for the specific physical prize.
- Each prize is fulfilled separately and can use a different delivery method.
9) Contacts, encryption and public code
- The entry stores contact type, encrypted contact, a masked representation, a public code, consent revision and a technical installation identifier.
- Full contacts are not published and are not sold to third parties.
- Public lists and results use the public code and, where necessary, a masked contact only.
- Raffle data is removed or anonymized after the season and the required retention period; the historical archive keeps only public results.
10) Abuse and technical circumstances
- Entries may be rejected for automated abuse, duplicate-entry circumvention, falsified installation verification or use of another person's contact without permission.
- The organizer may correct an obvious technical error, pause the draw or postpone selection if a failure affected list integrity; such action should be recorded and explained.
- The organizer is not responsible for third-party service outages, an incorrect participant contact or delivery limitations outside supported territories.
11) Rule changes and contact
Material terms of an active season are not changed after entries open except where required by law, security or correction of a technical error. A new revision and publication date will be shown here when rules change.
